This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Roone platform (the "Platform") operated by Notice News, Inc., a Delaware corporation d/b/a Roone ("Roone," "we," or "us"). This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Roone Terms of Service. By accessing or using the Platform, Customer and its Authorized Users agree to comply with this AUP.
1. Permitted Uses
The Platform is designed to support professional editorial content production for newsrooms, advocacy organizations, and similar mission-driven publishers. Permitted uses include:
- Drafting, editing, and refining editorial content, including news articles, newsletters, social media copy, and advocacy communications;
- Managing and streamlining newsroom content workflows, including assignment, review, and approval processes;
- Applying and maintaining organizational brand voice and editorial standards through the Editorial DNA system;
- Integrating with authorized third-party publishing platforms and content management systems for distribution;
- Analyzing content performance data and editorial signals to improve content strategy; and
- Any other use expressly authorized by Roone in the applicable Order Form or in writing.
All permitted use is subject to the requirement that a human Authorized User reviews and approves all AI-Generated Content before publication, as required by the Terms.
2. Prohibited Uses
Customer and its Authorized Users must not use the Platform to create, facilitate, distribute, or support any of the following:
2.1 Disinformation and Deceptive Content
- Generating, publishing, or distributing false or misleading information intended to deceive readers, manipulate public opinion, or damage the reputation of individuals or organizations;
- Creating synthetic or AI-generated content designed to impersonate real people or fabricate quotes, statements, or events attributed to real individuals;
- Producing deepfakes, synthetic media, or fabricated news content intended to deceive audiences about its origin or authenticity; or
- Generating content for astroturfing, coordinated inauthentic behavior, or influence operations.
2.2 Spam and Unsolicited Communications
- Generating bulk unsolicited commercial messages, marketing spam, or phishing content;
- Using the Platform to send communications to individuals who have not consented to receive them in violation of applicable anti-spam laws (including CAN-SPAM, CASL, or equivalent); or
- Automating mass content distribution in a manner that violates the terms of any third-party publishing platform.
2.3 Intellectual Property Violations
- Submitting Customer Content or generating Published Content that infringes any third party's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights;
- Using the Platform to reproduce, republish, or systematically extract content from third-party sources in violation of their terms of service or applicable copyright law; or
- Representing AI-Generated Content as wholly original human-authored work in contexts where such representation constitutes fraud or academic misconduct.
2.4 Illegal and Harmful Content
- Content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, harassing, or discriminatory;
- Content that violates any applicable law or regulation, including securities laws, consumer protection laws, or applicable advertising standards;
- Content that promotes, glorifies, or facilitates violence, terrorism, or other illegal acts; or
- Content that violates any individual's privacy rights, including unauthorized publication of private information.
2.5 Platform Integrity
- Attempting to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security features, content filters, usage limits, or safeguards built into the Platform;
- Attempting to access, extract, copy, or reverse engineer any underlying AI model weights, training data, algorithms, or proprietary components of the Platform by any means;
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Platform or any related systems without Roone's prior written authorization;
- Using automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Platform in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on Roone's infrastructure; or
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other Customers' accounts, data, or Editorial DNA configurations.
3. Customer Responsibility for Authorized Users
Customer is responsible for ensuring that all Authorized Users are aware of and comply with this AUP. Customer shall: communicate the requirements of this AUP to all Authorized Users before granting them access to the Platform; maintain appropriate internal policies and controls; promptly revoke access of any Authorized User who violates this AUP or the Terms; and notify Roone promptly at hello@roone.ai if Customer becomes aware of any AUP violation.
4. Enforcement and Suspension
Roone reserves the right to investigate suspected AUP violations and to take appropriate action, which may include: issuing a written warning; removing or disabling access to content that violates this AUP; temporarily suspending Customer's or an Authorized User's access to the Platform pending investigation; permanently terminating Customer's access to the Platform; and/or reporting violations to law enforcement or other applicable authorities where required by law.
5. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any use of the Platform that violates this AUP, please report it to Roone at hello@roone.ai. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
6. Relationship to Terms of Service
This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Roone Terms of Service and should be read together with the Terms. In the event of any conflict between this AUP and the Terms, the Terms shall control. Violations of this AUP constitute a material breach of the Terms.
7. Updates to This AUP
Roone may update this AUP from time to time by posting a revised version on the Platform or by notifying Customer at the email address on file. Updated versions take effect thirty (30) days after notice.
